Week ending 1.5.2015

This week in English we have been reading the story 'The Tiger Who Came To Tea' by Judith Kerr. The children all chose their own animals and learnt how to write a list of their favourite food and drinks! The children will be writing their own version of the story and attempting to use a comma in writing their list of food and drinks. In maths we have revisited halving and quartering. We started the week with a carousel of activities which including making play dough pizzas and halving and quartering a variety of objects. Our topic this week will be all about animals and the different animal groups. On Friday the children will be challenged to create their own zoo! Thank you for all of the donations for our chick fundraiser so far. Please bring in any toys, raffle prizes or sweets as soon as you can so we can start organising our stalls. The fete is Wednesday 20th May between 3pm and 4pm. The past few weeks have our reading numbers have dropped. Please remember to read your child's reading book at least three times a week with them and record it in their yellow reading record. Don't forget this Friday 1st May at 9am we have the Big Book Share. Remind your children that they can bring in their favourite book to share with friends and family.
