Week beginning 20.2.2017

Welcome back- we hope you all had a relaxing half term. This week is International Week and we have been looking at the Arctic Circle. We have been learning about the countries which make up the Arctic circle, creating art work to represent the Northern Lights, comparing what it's like to live in the UK and Finland, writing facts about Arctic animals and we have even carried out a science experiment on the best way to melt ice. The children have all really enjoyed this and we hope that they have had lots to tell you each day. PE for this half term only will be on Mondays and Tuesdays. Please remember that the children must hand their homework books in by Wednesday. Parent teacher interviews for RE Tuesday morning and HP Thursday morning

Week beginning 6th February

Wow- we can't believe that half term is here already! The children have all worked really hard this half term and we are really impressed with the progress they are making. The children had a great day out at Norwich Castle Museum yesterday. They got to explore the castle keep, handle lots of objects which were used in and around the castle and they all designed and made their own pennant flag. In English this week we have been reading the traditional tale Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The children have been acting out the story, talking about the beginning, middle and end and today they became authors and wrote a short version of the story. We look forward to showing you these at parent teacher interviews. This half term we ask that you read as regularly as you can to help the children become fluent and we have also sent home some word reading homework. We hope the children all enjoy a well earned rest and we look forward to seeing you all back on Monday 20th February for International Week. Dates for the diary: Parent teacher interviews Tuesday 21st 430pm onwards (Mrs Elis & Mrs Prophet) Parent teacher interviews Tuesday 28th 9am onwards (Mrs Ellis) Parent teacher interviews Thursday 21nd 9am onwards (Mrs Prophet) Please remember that the library van will be outside the school next Wednesday 15th February at 940am.
