Week ending 21.11.14

What have we been doing in English? Last week we began looking at the story of the Gingerbread Man. We acted out the story and worked on sequencing the story. In Mrs Ellis’s class we even had a visit from the Gingerbread Man himself! What have we been doing in Maths? In maths we continued to look at measuring which included capacity and weight. We compared the weight of different presents and then used millilitres to measure out the correct amount of Dragons blood to put into a potion. What have we been doing in Topic? We have started our design and technology project which will run for the next few weeks. We have started investigating existing products ready to design and create a surprise Christmas present! Other news… Don’t forget to ‘Decorate your head’ tomorrow and bring in a small gift for the Christmas fair in return. Monday 1st December sees our second Big Book Share. Please come in and enjoy a story with your child from 2:20pm. If you cannot attend other family members are of course welcome. Please remember to send in your school photographs by Monday 1st December. Hand them in to your class TA in the morning or send them in book bags. Thank you for all of your support at the Year One reading event. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. Please remember- reading isn’t just about books!!
