Week ending 7.11.14
What have we been doing in English?
Last week we read the story of Little Red Riding Hood. We acted out the story and worked on sequencing and verbally retelling the story.
In Miss Tovell’s class we even had a visit from the big bad wolf!
What have we been doing in Maths?
Last week we looked at halving and quartering shapes. The children were so good that we created posters to display equal halves and quarters.
What have we been doing in Topic?
Our topic for this term is Ourselves. Last week we explored the five senses. We spent the day investigating the senses touch, taste and smell. We also created a class poem about the senses.
Other news…
Our gymnastics has now started. Every week our gym coach Tracy will be in teaching the children the skills.
Our year one reading event is coming up on Monday 24th November at 9am. There will be a letter to follow.
Don’t forget individual photos are this week on Wednesday.
Children in Need is on Friday- it’s not too late to enter the talent show. Remember to practice at home, just like the teachers have!
A gentle reminder to please return your lunch slips every Friday, or you can return them all at once.
