Merry Christmas!

Wow- what a busy first term we have had. We are really impressed with how quickly the children settled into year one and at how much effort they have put in. They are now working as a whole class for the majority of the time and becoming independent learners.

After watching the Reception children's wonderful Nativity show- Wriggly nativity- this week we have watched some different adaptations. The children have been retelling the story, sequencing pictures and drawing a picture of a Nativity scene.

In maths we have been looking at odd and even numbers- using our fingers to show whether a number is odd or even. We have also learnt a special trick where we can work out whether any number is odd or even by looking at the last digit! For example: the number 231 is ODD because the last digit is 1. As part of your home learning you could spot numbers in the environment and think about whether they are odd or even.

We hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and we look forward to seeing you back at school in the New Year on Thursday 4th January. We are aware that you will all be busy and the children need to rest but please remember to read little and often!!

Please remember to bring PE kits and wellies back to school in the New Year. Thank you.
