Week beginning 13th March

Today the children really enjoyed the Irish Dance Workshop which was put on by one of the parents. We learnt how to perform simple moves, listened to some traditional Irish dance music and looked at the different costumes worn.

This week in English we are reading the story of The Frog Prince. We are comparing this to other traditional fairy tales and also learning how to ask and write questions using a ?.

In maths we are learning about weight- comparing items which are heavy and light and beginning to weigh objects using non-standard units of measurement such as lego bricks and cubes.

This Wednesday 15th March the library van will be visiting school. Please remember to send in library cards and any books which need to be returned.

Next Monday 20th we are having our second Year One Reading Cafe- please come and join us in the school hall at 2pm.

Friday 24th is Red Nose Day- the children can wear their own clothes as long as they bring in a donation.

Tuesday 28th is Open Afternoon- please come and have a look at your children's work.

Please remind children to hand their homework books in by Wednesday. New homework is issued every Friday.
